Naive Bull Oil Painting
Charming 19th century naive oil on board of a roan coloured Shorthorn Bull standing proudly in a landscape. Signed by the artist, J. Winters, and displayed in a faux oak gesso and timber frame. The whole in original condition and exhibiting age related wear to the paint and frame. c1850.
The Shorthorn originated in North Eastern England in the late 18th century and became the world’s first 1000 guinea specimen when sold at market.
