Church Votive Candle Stand
A large Victorian period wrought iron and brass votive stand. These are used in churches to hold candles that can be lit when offering a prayer. The lower section has three metal containers that would hold the unlit candles, one with a slightly later paper label that evocatively reads: “Candles are 5p each. Please put money in slot behind statue of the Virgin Mary.” Rare to find one of this size available to buy. Separates into two sections for easier moving. Late 19th century.
