Large Desert Rose Formation
Large example of Saharan gypsum crystal, colloquially called ‘Desert Rose’ due to its petal like formation. These crystals form in dry arid conditions, usually when a salt lake evaporates. Although abundant in much smaller sizes, one of this size and weight is rarely found and as such it makes for a unique and incredibly decorative artefact. Gently glistens under light (seemingly impossible to photograph).
